The Anvi Smart Defender installation file is 35.1Mb in size. Run it and you will be presented with a simple setup wizard. To run a scan manually, click on the Scan tab and pick one of three options: Quick Scan, Full Scan, Custom Scan. To have Anvi Smart Defender automatically scan your machine, go to the Settings menu, the Schedule submenu, and check “Quick scan at a scheduled time.”

Say you’re done for the day and before you head out the door you want to scan your system. You can launch a scan, check the “Repair after scan” and the “Shut down the computer after scan” option, and head out the door safe in the knowledge that Anvi Smart Defender will address any problem it finds and will shut down your computer afterwards.

To ensure it can detect the latest malware threats, the application will automatically update its virus signatures. From the aforementioned Settings menu you can set it up so updates are downloaded at a scheduled time. Or if you want to take a more hands-on approach, you can manually update the virus signatures.

Anvi Smart Defender also has a powerful guard feature. The Privacy Guard protects against suspicious actions and unauthorized access, the Startup Guard stops suspicious malware that launch at startup, the Process Guard detects and stops malware processes running in the computer’s memory, the Behaviour Guard detects and blocks malicious behaviours, and the Files Guard prevents malicious files from accessing your PC.

Besides being a security solution, Anvi Smart Defender is also an optimization tool. Click the Optimize tab from the application’s interface to uncover that it can remove temp and junk files, get rid of old and unused registry entries, erase the tracks you leave behind while surfing the web, clean up RAM, and defrag your disk.

All the functionality Anvi Smart Defender has to offer is free – the application is freeware.
